What TEC582 Promises

On paper, these claims sound impressive—especially for detailers who want a product that doubles as a drying aid or quick topper for existing protection.

Real-World Test Results

We used TEC582 on multiple vehicles, including daily drivers and garaged weekend cars. Here’s what we observed:

• Gloss: Noticeable improvement right after application, with a bright and reflective finish.
• Slickness: Impressive at first, but faded after several washes.
• Water Beading: Strong beading for the first 2–3 months, then began to taper off.
• Durability: Needed reapplication sooner than expected compared to Tough As Shell.

Where TEC582 Falls Short

While TEC582 is easy to use and offers nice short-term results, it’s not a long-term protection solution. In our tests, Tough As Shell’s hydrophobic performance lasted more than twice as long, and its slickness didn’t drop off as quickly.
