Pure Magic Cleaner Review – Too Strong or Just Right?

It’s acid-based. It smells strong. And it melts brake dust like nothing else. But is Pure Magic Cleaner safe—and how should you actually use it?

In this review, we break down what Pure Magic Cleaner is, when to use it, what to avoid—and how it compares to other wheel and tire cleaners.

What Is Pure Magic Cleaner?

Pure Magic Cleaner is an acid-based wheel and tire cleaner designed to quickly dissolve brake dust, road grime, and mineral deposits. It's stronger than your average pH-neutral soap, but not as aggressive as full industrial acids.

It can also be used as a soap booster or even as a foam cannon additive when properly diluted.

When to Use It

  • Heavy brake dust: Factory wheels with caked-on dust
  • Mineral buildup: Water spot removal from rims
  • Tire deep-cleaning: Before applying dressing
  • Soap booster: Add to your foam cannon for extra bite

It’s especially useful on neglected vehicles, or as a prep step before ceramic coating wheels or tires.

How It Performs

We tested it on clear-coated OEM wheels, raw rubber tires, and older neglected chrome.

  • Wheels: Cuts through thick brake dust in one pass
  • Tires: Removes blooming and old dressing easily
  • Foam Cannon: Boosted soap power without damaging coatings

Pro Tip: Don’t use on raw aluminum or polished billet wheels. It’s also best to rinse immediately—don’t let it dry on the surface.

Compared to Other Wheel Cleaners

Product Type Best Use
Pure Magic Cleaner Acid-Based Heavy grime, brake dust, tire prep
pH Neutral Iron Removers Neutral Decontamination before coating
APC (All-Purpose Cleaners) Alkaline General tire and plastic cleaning

Verdict: Pure Magic Cleaner fills the “in-between” zone—stronger than APC, faster than iron removers, and perfect for maintenance or prep washes.

Recommended Pairings

After use, rinse thoroughly and dry with the Massive Drying Towel for a clean, streak-free finish.
